Dear Parents and Carers
This week our student and staff community has been significantly impacted by a variety of illnesses. We are thankful to work in strong partnership with you for the health and wellbeing of your children and of all our students. Thank you for keeping your children home if they are unwell, thank you for collecting your children if they become unwell at school. We hope that we will soon see all children back at school and the class communities can be complete! If your child is recuperating at home and well enough to continue some learning please access some of the learning resources that are available on Seesaw.
Welcome Mr Healey
We are so happy to have employed our new Maintenance person at St Pat's. Welcome Mr Cam Healey! Perhaps we should say welcome back. We are so happy that Mr Healey loves our school so much that following being a student, including being the school captain, and a parent in our community, he is now on staff!
Congratulations Lily and Henry
We are so proud of our two St Pat's kids who swam their fastest at the State Championships in Sydney. We congratulate Lily on winning her freestyle event. Wow! Lily will now compete at the NSWPSSA Swimming Championships! Congratulations Henry for placing 13th in 50m Freestyle!
Year 6 Leadership
Will and Monique are our Indigenous Leaders in 2022. I thank them for their patience in awaiting the badges to honour the role. We will share a photo of Monique next week.

Have a healthy and restful weekend.

Students in Years 3, and 5 participate in NAPLAN tests for reading, writing, conventions of language and numeracy during May. Our school will participate in NAPLAN Practice Tests in Weeks 8 and 9, which are designed to give students, teachers and systems an opportunity to practice administering and participating in the online testing environment. The practice tests consist of a Writing Test for Years 5, and an Omnibus Test (a combination of reading, conventions of language and numeracy) for Years 3 and 5. As this is intended to practice participation, the questions are not equivalent to NAPLAN testing in May, and no results are available from the Practice Tests.
VOLUNTEERING AT ST PAT'S
Do you have a special talent? Some extra time? Or just want to connect with the learning in our school? BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Special interest clubs! Once a week. Can you assist with chess or checkers club?, Craft club (knitting and crocheting), Cooking club? or any special talent you can share with our school? Would you like to listen to students read or help out with art/craft or in the library?
St Pat's is now able to enjoy having volunteers working back in our school. We ask volunteers to participate in a 30-40minute induction with Val Sheahan (Assistant Principal) to ensure a shared understanding regarding our school vision, duty of care, confidentiality, use of social media and expectations when working alongside students. Please contact the office to book a time to attend an induction. Please email val.sheahan@cg.catholic.edu.au to discuss ways you can be a volunteer in our school.
