Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another fabulous week at St Patrick’s and from all accounts the long weekend was well celebrated!
Last night was a beautiful celebration for many students in Year 5&6 as they received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Thank you to the Fr Luke and the Parish committee and Mrs Grant for the organisation of the celebration, and to our Year 5/6 teachers for their preparation of the students throughout the term. The Archbishop’s used breathing in and breathing out to communicate his message to us. We are called to remember that breathing in, through prayer, silence, Christian meditation and other aspects of a faith filled life, must be present in our daily lives. Breathing out, referenced our outward life, all the busyness and events that take up our time and expend our energy. During Mass we had silent time to breathe in.
Thank you to our choir on the evening: Abbie; Alice; Indi and Sienna.
Today we have had a little fun with Crazy Hair day. Here’s a taste of the Crazy Hair…
Tonight we are looking forward to 35 or more students, parents and staff gathering OUT IN THE COLD for raising awareness about homelessness. Thank you for the blankets and cans of soup that are being donated for Vinnies. Thanks Mrs Grant for organising this event.
Thank you to all parents and carers for booking in for phone or in person conversations with your children’s teachers to discuss learning progress in Semester 1. Student semester reports will go home next Monday. As per the Archdiocesan guidelines for reporting this semester there are no comments on the report, the interview was designed for the purpose of elaboration on your child’s progress and achievement. A BIG thank you to the amazing teaching staff at St Patrick's for your dedication to teaching and learning and every student making progress in learning.
Enjoy the weekend.
Many blessings,
Jo
YEAR 2/3 FOCUS; TIPTOE THROUGH OUR WORLD
SUSTAINABILITY; REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
We all need to take responsibility to look after our environment so that it is preserved for future generations.
- How to sustain our environment by reducing, reusing and recycling.
- How long things take to decompose.
- The ethics of sustainability.
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS
- How can we leave a tiny footprint on the environment?
- Do we know what we can reuse, reduce and recycle?
- How can we set goals and influence others to look after our environment?
Students in Year 2/3 have created a gifts using recyclable materials for someone in their family. The students were practising designing and producing so that they could improve these skills and to see the value in applying knowledge when creating a solution. Here are some of the students creations!!!
EARLY PAT MATHS ASSESSMENT

Kindness comes in all different forms. It starts in our thoughts then moves to our hearts and then expressed through our actions. There is plenty of KINDNESS at St Pat's. Through a smile, a conversation or an act of service these are signs that we are here to support each other. This week on the playground it was clear to see that our St Pat's Kids know how to be kind.
Challenge: What random act of KINDNESS will you show others this week?
PEER MEDIATION
Our Grade 5 Peer Mediators are professional now coming into thier second stint of duty consolidating all their interpersonal skills as they help St Pat's to stay PEACE filled.
EMPOWERED PROGRAM
The students participating in the Empowered Program have now studied all 24 character strengths and are identifying their own top 5 strengths. They have discussed and more inportantly observed over the past 9 weeks people in their world who have been displaying a variety of character strengths. The wellbeing theory according to Seligman is that if we are living, speaking and acting in and through our top 5 strengths then we will be feeling good about who we are and ultimately happy.
