FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
LIBRARY VISIT FOR BOOKWEEK
Junior Primary students attended our local library for BookWeek to listen to the range of books receving the Children Book of Australia Awards. We thank
Anne for the invitation and reminder that all students can borrow books from their local libraries.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Kindergarten who were happy to share their reading, spelling and writing. The students have been following the InitiaLit program.
InitiaLit is an evidence-based whole-class literacy program providing all children with the essential core knowledge and strong foundations to become successful readers and writers. InitiaLit is a three-year program, covering the first three years of school (Foundation to Year 2). It is great to see the progress of our Kinders. Recent assessment of reading resulted in 100% (all) of our students making progress since term 1.
